Low Back Pain Treatment with Chiropractic

Written By Russo Chiropractic on September 24, 2019

Man with low back painNow that the grueling Florida summer is finally in the rearview mirror, many are looking forward to finally spending some (comfortable) time outside. Whether it’s strolls outside, recreational sports, or a round of golf, now’s the time when the temperatures are just cool enough to enjoy the outdoors.

However, low back pain can quickly damper those plans – particularly if the pain is chronic and severe. Regular chiropractic treatments have been an all-natural, non-invasive solution to low back pain for centuries, and Dr. Russo’s experienced low back pain techniques can make discomfort a distant memory.

What Causes Low Back Pain

The lower back is a central keystone of the entire body – and is involved in virtually every movement. When pain persists, it can be difficult to walk, run, twist, sit or bend down. Low back pain can result from any of the following:

  • Irritated sciatica
  • Injury or overuse
  • Arthritis
  • Ruptured, herniated or bulging lumbar disks
  • Pregnancy
  • Misalignment

As part of a low back pain treatment plan, Dr. Russo will likely review x-ray imaging of the lower back, as well as take a full assessment of medical history and treatment goals in order to devise the best plan for recovery.

Chiropractic Techniques for Low Back Pain

The most common chiropractic approach for low back pain involves spinal manipulation to properly align the spine. This is accomplished through a series of controlled adjustments of the lower spine. For many, regular adjustments bring about permanent relief. Other patients may require additional services, such as lifestyle counseling, nutrition and weight management, or massage therapy.

When patients first come to our office for low back pain treatment, we often recommend frequent visits to get the pain under control. From there, visits can gradually begin to spread out, until only maintenance appointments are needed.
